Conference Council on Youth Ministry (CCYM)
 
Membership
  • 6 Districts (3 Voting and 2 Non-Voting from each district)
  • CCYM President - Voting
  • At-Large (4 Non-Voting Members)
 
Restrictions, Conditions, and Election Standards
  • Each district will have 5 youth votes and 1 coordinator vote per district for CCYM elections.
  • The CCYM President and Vice-President cannot be from the same district.
  • The CCYM Jurisdictional Representatives cannot be from the same district.
  • All offices for CCYM must be elected by the body.
  • CCYM elections will be held during Annual Conference.
  • Candidates in elections should declare themselves before voting begins by written declaration for all of the positions they are interested in serving. (Avoid nominations from the floor that sometimes end in popularity contests.)
  • CCYM leadership should reflect racial/cultural/gender equity as much as possible.
  • CCYM leadership should reflect large/small church inclusiveness.
 
Elected Positions

 

  • President  (also serves on the conference Board of Laity and the Connectional Council)
  • Vice-President/YSF Chairperson (also serves on the conference Focus Team)
  • Secretary
  • Jurisdictional Youth Team Representatives (Two youth elected to staggered two-year terms)
  • Camping Commission
  • Focus Team
  • District Youth Coordinator Representative

Protection policy for children, youth and vulnerable adults

Kansas West Conference policy states that anyone working with youth, children, or developmentally disabled dependent persons at conference or district events must have conference boundary awareness certification.
